Bharat Clinic · Our story
From one seed,
three generations
A family practice, rooted in listening and carried forward through three generations.
What began as a family path still continues in the same spirit: listening first, guiding with care, and keeping the first step private.
Era I · The record
Where the record begins
Everything before this point is a symbol. Everything after it is a photograph.
The archive is small and imperfect — faded prints, dust, creases, and handwriting on the back. Some of the people in it are still being named by the family. It is kept here as it is, because the wear is part of the evidence.
Era II · The first generation
Shri Kuldeep Raj Sharma
Shri Kuldeep Raj Sharma began the family’s path in Ayurvedic care through a life spent around medicines — and long evenings with classical Ayurvedic texts.
The more he served patients, the more he was drawn to the older science: treating the person, not just the symptom. Over time, he became known in the family as a vaidya in the older sense of the word — shaped by texts, pharmacy experience, and years beside patients.
This is among the earliest photographs the family holds. Who stands in it is still being confirmed, and until it is, the record stays open.
Era III · The name
The name we carry
॥ श्री श्री 1008 बाबा धर्मदास जी महाराज ॥
Shree Shree 1008 Baba Dharamdas Ji Maharaj
Samadhi · 2015
For more than fifteen years, Dr. D.K. Sharma served at his side.
In our family’s telling, it was Baba Ji who gave Bharat Clinic its name and its identity.
Those years are remembered for discipline, humility and seva — and for traditional guidance on herbs and household remedies, passed on in conversation rather than in writing. What the family carried forward from them was a way of paying attention, not a set of cures.
This page records Baba Ji’s place in our family’s history. It does not present spiritual blessing as medical treatment.
Years of seva
The ceremony is ours. The photographs are simply what was there.
Era IV · The doctor-led chapter
Dr. D.K. Sharma
The name was given. The practice had to be built.
Plates 07–09 · the doctor
He chose to earn formally what his father had carried through experience — a BAMS degree — and brought the family’s care into its doctor-led chapter.
Then the years that do not photograph well: consulting rooms, long mornings, and the same few questions asked carefully enough to hear the answer.
And then a practice with an address — a door on a street, open at posted hours, with the family name above it.
Detail · the signboard
Today, Dr. D.K. Sharma, BAMS, continues the same principle: listen first, treat the whole person, and promise nothing that cannot be honestly given.
Era V · Beyond the door
Care beyond the clinic door
The archive also records work done outside the consulting room: immunisation drives and camps, and care given to families in the places where they already were — on a bus, under a shamiana, at a roadside stand.
Plates 10–12 · field record
These are not campaign photographs. They are what somebody happened to photograph on the day.
Era VI · Still growing
The next chapter
The third generation is still being written. Gaurav Sharma carries the family’s work into its next chapter: making the clinic easier to reach through WhatsApp and simpler first-step guidance, and keeping this archive so that the people in it are not forgotten.
He is not a doctor, and does not pretend to be. His role is simpler: making sure that when someone needs his father’s kind of listening, it is one private message away.
