How consultation works

From one private message to a clear next step.

You do not need a diagnosis to begin — one line, in your own words, is enough.

The seven steps

Your consultation, step by step

Seven steps, in the same order for every patient. None of them assumes you will be given medicine.

01

Send one private message

You do not need a diagnosis, a report, or the right medical words. One sentence in your own words is enough to begin:

  • “I have burning after meals.”
  • “I see blood during stool.”
  • “I am worried about timing.”
  • “My hair is falling more than usual.”
  • “I am not sleeping properly.”

Message privately — Punjabi, Hindi or English is fine.

A sensitive concern? Your first message does not have to name it — see the exact message our button sends.

02

We first understand the concern

Before any consultation is arranged, the first job is to understand — broadly — what is going on, and whether BharatClinic is the right place for it. Some concerns need urgent care, a physical examination, laboratory tests or a different kind of doctor first.

Sometimes the right consultation is somewhere else.

That is not a failure — it is the point of checking. When another doctor, investigation or hospital is more appropriate, we say so.

03

We tell you: clinic visit, phone, or video

Not every concern suits the same route. Depending on what you describe, the consultation may be in person at either Ludhiana clinic, or by phone or video where that is appropriate. If you are outside Ludhiana, the online consultation page explains how remote care is arranged.

You are told which route fits — you are never left to guess.

04

The fee is made clear before anything is confirmed

₹500 · arranged only after suitability

Messaging costs nothing. The consultation fee is ₹500, and it becomes payable only after the clinic confirms your concern is one it should take, and a time is agreed:

  1. Time agreed
  2. Confirmed in writing
  3. ₹500 becomes payable
  4. Payment method shared by the clinic

05

You speak with Dr. D.K. Sharma

The consultation itself is a conversation, not a form. The doctor’s aim is to understand what is happening and what has already been tried. Expect questions about:

  • what you are experiencing, and when it began
  • what makes it better or worse
  • appetite, digestion, bowel habit, sleep and daily routine — where relevant
  • medicines you already take, and previous treatment
  • reports or prescriptions, if you have any

Bring what you already have. Nothing needs to be complete — a perfect file is not required.

The person on the other side

06

A consultation can end in more than one next step

Not every consultation ends in medicine.

After listening, the doctor decides what the situation actually calls for. That may be:

  • Advice, for nowSometimes observation and reassurance are the honest next step.
  • Diet & routine guidanceWhen the daily pattern is doing the damage, that is where care starts.
  • Ayurvedic treatment optionsDiscussed only if they are appropriate for you, after the consultation.
  • TestsWhen a decision needs information the conversation cannot supply.
  • In-person examinationSome concerns cannot be responsibly assessed over a phone call.
  • ReferralWhen another doctor, investigation or hospital is more appropriate, we say so.
07

Follow-up: what changed, what didn’t

“What changed? What stayed the same?”

That is what the next conversation asks. The plan is adjusted according to what actually happens — progress, problems, tolerance, new information, or the need for a different route altogether.

Reception follows up generally every seven days. If a doctor-guided course is appropriate, its duration is decided only after consultation — never sold in advance.

Now you know what happens. The first step is one message.

Inside the consultation

Where Ayurveda enters the conversation

An Ayurvedic consultation pays attention to patterns the usual quick questions skip — in plain words first, with the traditional term as a label, not a mystery.

Digestion & appetite
Agni How hunger, digestion and comfort after meals behave — often the first place a pattern shows itself.
Strength & stamina
Bala What your energy, recovery and capacity for daily work look like, and whether they have changed.
Sleep
Nidrā When you sleep, how deeply, and what your nights do to your days.

These patterns are considered alongside your history and reports — they do not replace examination, tests or referral when those are needed.

Choosing a route

In person, by phone — or not sure yet?

In person, in Ludhiana

Useful when:

  • a physical examination may matter
  • you prefer a face-to-face conversation
  • visiting either clinic is practical for you

See the Ludhiana clinics

Before you start

You do not need a perfect file

Helpful, if you happen to have them:

  • the medicines you currently take
  • previous prescriptions
  • blood tests, scans or other reports
  • a rough timeline — when it started, what has changed
  • the questions you want answered

In writing

Who you speak to

The person on the other side of the consultation

Every consultation at BharatClinic — first message, suitability check, conversation and follow-up — runs through one doctor, Dr. D.K. Sharma, BAMS. Not a rotating panel, not a chat team.

  • Dr. D.K. Sharma — BAMS
  • Consults in Punjabi, Hindi and English
  • Sits at both Ludhiana clinics — Samrala Chowk and Jugiana Phatak, Gobindgarh
  • A family clinic carried forward since 1965

In person

Ayurvedic consultation in Ludhiana

Two clinics, one doctor. If an in-person consultation is the right format, you will be guided to whichever branch suits you.

Away from Ludhiana? Some consultations can begin remotely; some cannot be completed responsibly without examination. Start with online consultation — or the NRI families route if you are abroad.

Not sure whether your concern fits?

You can start with a symptom — you do not need the diagnosis first.

Private concerns

You can start without writing the private detail

For piles, men’s and women’s wellness and other sensitive concerns, the first message does not have to name anything. A neutral line is enough — the detail can wait for the doctor.

  • What you are experiencing
  • Roughly how long it has been
  • Your age
  • Current medicines — only if relevant

“Namaste, I have a health concern I would like to discuss privately. Please guide me on the right next step.”

This is the exact message our button sends. It stays editable — nothing is sent until you press send.

Your first message goes to the clinic’s own WhatsApp number — the same number on this page — and stays inside the clinic.

Nothing is shared outside the clinic.

Before you decide

Questions patients ask before consulting

Do I need to know my diagnosis before I message?

No. Describing what you are experiencing, in one line and in your own words, is the normal way to begin. The clinic first checks whether the concern is something it should handle at all — that check is free.

What happens in the first consultation?

A conversation with Dr. D.K. Sharma about what is happening — when it began, and what makes it better or worse. Where relevant, the doctor also asks about appetite, sleep, bowel habit and routine, the medicines you already take, and any reports you have. It ends with a decided next step — which may or may not include treatment.

Do I need reports or tests before contacting the clinic?

No. Bring whatever you already have — recent tests, prescriptions, scans — and nothing more. If information is genuinely missing, tests are suggested after the doctor has listened, not as an entry requirement.

Can I consult by phone or video?

Many consultations can happen by phone or video where that is appropriate, especially history-taking, report discussions and follow-ups. Some concerns need in-person examination, and the clinic tells you honestly when yours is one of them. See online consultation for how remote care is arranged.

Will I always be given Ayurvedic medicine?

No. A consultation can end in advice, diet and routine guidance, Ayurvedic treatment options, a request for tests, an in-person examination, or a referral. Treatment is discussed only when it is appropriate for you.

When would I need to visit in person, or get tests?

When a concern cannot be responsibly assessed through conversation alone — for example, where a physical examination matters, or where a decision needs information only a test can supply. In that case the visit or test is explained before anything else moves forward.

What if my concern needs a different kind of doctor?

Then that is what you will be told — and you will be pointed in that direction instead of the clinic taking the consultation. Being sent to the right place is a result, not a rejection.

How much does the consultation cost?

Messaging is free. The consultation fee is ₹500. It applies only once the clinic confirms the consultation is right for you and a time is agreed — the amount and the payment method are put in writing before you pay.

Can I speak in Punjabi or Hindi?

Yes. Consultations happen in Punjabi, Hindi or English — whichever you think in. The first message can be in any of the three as well.

The first step can be small

You do not need to have the right medical words.

Tell us what you are experiencing, in your own words and your own language. The first job is simply to work out the right next step — together.

Nothing is shared outside the clinic. Messaging is free — the ₹500 fee applies only once the clinic confirms it can help and a time is fixed.

This page explains how the BharatClinic consultation process works — it does not diagnose a condition. For wellness guidance, not a substitute for emergency medical care.
